Effective cybersecurity requires a combination of technical expertise, structured methodology and ongoing vigilance. Acclime’s team brings all three, working across the full spectrum from governance and compliance through to hands-on technical testing and incident preparedness.
Baseline health check
Our baseline health check services provide a gap analysis giving clients a high-level view of their current cybersecurity posture. This covers IT security governance, risk and compliance. The resulting report helps you define and plan a cost-effective strategy to meet your compliance and cybersecurity objectives.
- Quick and accurate report delivered within a week
- Cost-effective review of your current environment
- Identifies the maturity level of your current information security posture
Cybersecurity assessment
Cybersecurity threats evolve constantly, which is why periodic assessments are essential for businesses. A cybersecurity assessment identifies potential vulnerabilities and threats in your current network, highlights weaknesses and informs steps to build a more resilient environment.
- Evaluates current business processes and policies
- Identifies vulnerabilities and risks
- Reviews cybersecurity compliance against your industry requirements
- Produces a risk matrix based on various international frameworks
- Aligns the organisation with cybersecurity industry standards
- Delivers a comprehensive report including recommendations and remediations
Red teaming
As cyber threat actors become more sophisticated, penetration testing alone may not be sufficient to address large-scale, targeted attacks. Whilst penetration testing aims to identify as many vulnerabilities as possible, red teaming focuses on gaining access to the environment stealthily, bypassing detection with a precise objective. For organisations that have already conducted penetration testing and are maturing in their cybersecurity posture, red teaming is the logical next step.
- An adversarial approach that tests the organisation’s security posture through technical, physical and process-based methods
- Assesses the organisation’s ability to detect such attacks
- Provides insight into the tactics that threat actors may deploy
- Builds confidence in the organisation’s ability to respond to sophisticated attacks
Incident response services
Preparedness is a critical component of any cybersecurity defence. To effectively manage a cyber threat, an incident response plan and clear guidelines need to be in place to contain, eradicate and recover from an incident. Given that IT cybersecurity resources are often limited, our incident response service helps fill that gap.
- Identifies critical stakeholders during a cyber incident
- Defines roles and responsibilities within the organisation during a breach
- Assesses the client’s current critical business assets
- Provides a clear response plan for use during an incident
- Offers an incident response team on a retainer basis
Security awareness and training
Our IT security awareness training programme helps maintain high levels of awareness among staff, contractors and service providers. It covers individual responsibilities for safeguarding information assets, the current cyber threat landscape and the implications for your organisation.
We offer standard and tailored programmes for organisations, delivered on a periodic basis such as annually or every six months. All programmes are reviewed and updated regularly.
Training is conducted online at participants’ convenience, with reports generated based on their results. Additional exercises such as email phishing simulations and USB drop tests can also be arranged to validate awareness levels alongside the training programme.

FAQs
Common questions.
There is no single universal frequency. It depends on sector, regulatory obligations and how rapidly a company’s environment changes. CII owners must conduct a formal cybersecurity audit at least once every two years under the Cybersecurity Act. Financial institutions regulated by MAS must conduct penetration testing at least annually for internet-facing systems and after any significant system changes. For companies outside these regulated categories, CSA’s Cyber Essentials and Cyber Trust Mark frameworks recommend assessments annually as a minimum.
Beyond regulatory requirements, an assessment should also be triggered by material changes such as new system deployments, cloud migrations, mergers and acquisitions or significant workforce changes. A clean result from two years ago provides limited assurance against today’s threat landscape.
Both simulate attacks but serve different purposes and suit different levels of security maturity:
- Penetration testing attempts to identify and exploit as many vulnerabilities as possible within a defined scope. The goal is comprehensive vulnerability discovery and a clear remediation roadmap. It is the standard requirement for regulatory compliance under MAS TRM and CSA certification schemes.
- Red teaming is an adversarial simulation focused on reaching a specific objective while evading detection, using the same techniques a sophisticated attacker would. It tests not just technical controls but detection capabilities and human response, and is best suited to organisations that have already addressed foundational vulnerabilities through regular penetration testing.
For most companies, penetration testing is the appropriate starting point. Red teaming becomes relevant as security maturity increases.
Yes, for several categories. Companies with a statutory obligation to conduct regular VAPT include:
- Financial institutions regulated by MAS, including banks, insurers, capital markets intermediaries and payment service providers, under the MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, with annual testing expected as a minimum for internet-facing systems
- Critical Information Infrastructure owners under the Cybersecurity Act’s Code of Practice
Beyond statutory obligations, VAPT is effectively a prerequisite for companies seeking CSA’s Cyber Essentials or Cyber Trust Mark certification, bidding for government contracts, or supplying regulated financial or healthcare institutions. Under the Cybersecurity Act, penetration testing must be conducted by a CSA-licensed provider. Eligible SMEs can access up to 70% co-funding support from CSA when engaging an appointed consultant.
The immediate priority is containment: stopping the breach, isolating affected systems, disabling compromised credentials and preserving forensic evidence without altering it. The assessment process must begin in parallel.
Notification timelines under Singapore law are tight:
- PDPA: once a breach is assessed as notifiable, affecting 500 or more individuals or likely to cause significant harm, the PDPC must be informed within three calendar days, with affected individuals notified as soon as practicable. The overall assessment must be completed within 30 days of discovery.
- MAS-regulated institutions: notify MAS within one hour of discovering a relevant incident
- CII owners: notify the Commissioner of Cybersecurity within two hours
Without a pre-existing incident response plan, meeting these timelines while managing operational impact is extremely difficult. Organisations that have not pre-defined their breach response team, notification templates and escalation procedures are likely to exceed regulatory deadlines.
Most successful cyberattacks exploit human behaviour rather than purely technical vulnerabilities. Phishing remains the most prevalent attack vector in Singapore, and technical controls alone cannot prevent an employee from clicking a malicious link or mishandling sensitive data. Structured awareness training builds consistent, repeatable behaviours across the workforce, including contractors and service providers, who are frequently targeted precisely because they sit outside an organisation’s core security controls.
Beyond risk reduction, training also supports regulatory compliance. The PDPC has cited inadequate staff training as a contributing factor in enforcement decisions against organisations that suffered avoidable breaches, and the PDPA’s requirement to implement reasonable security arrangements effectively makes workforce training a baseline expectation.
